In sodic soils, sodium displaces calcium on the clay particles and the soil structure collapses — the result is soil that water cannot penetrate. Farsoil supplies soluble calcium that displaces sodium from the exchange complex so irrigation can leach it out of the root zone.

Application and dosage
Broadcast: 1–3 tonnes per hectare depending on the soil's exchangeable sodium. A heavy leaching irrigation after application is essential.
