Challenge

Plane trees on high-traffic routes were heavily infested with a sucking pest, but spraying a street with pedestrians and open-air cafés was simply not workable. At over 15 metres tall, full canopy coverage by sprayer was impossible anyway.

Solution

The entire route was covered by trunk injection. Work ran during low-traffic morning hours without closing the street. Dose was calculated per tree from trunk diameter and logged, so each tree's history remains traceable in later years.

Results

Pest populations fell below the damage threshold within three weeks and stayed there for the rest of the growing season. No citizen complaints relating to spraying were recorded.
